Learn more about our perforating services.

At IPS Perforating, Inc., we offer a wide range of high-quality perforating services. Below, we’ve answered some common questions we receive about these services and how they work.

What services do you offer?

We specialize in precision perforating services for a wide variety of materials, including paper, film, foil, textiles, vinyl, and more. We offer standard patterns, micro-perforations, and fully custom designs for aesthetic and functional purposes.

How long have you been in the perforating business?

We have been providing professional perforating services and working with our customers since 2005.

Do you work with both large and small businesses?

Yes! We can provide perforating services for companies of all sizes. We also take large, long-term, and high-volume orders, as well as small, one-time orders.

What is your typical lead time for an order?

The typical lead time for most projects is two to three weeks from the date we receive your material to the day we complete your order.

Why should I choose you for my project?

We have extensive expertise in the perforating industry, as well as a strong commitment to consistent quality and precision. We also have over 80 standard patterns, custom capabilities, and advanced perforating machines.

What is “toll” perforating?

Toll perforating is a service we offer where you supply us with your raw material, and then we perform the perforating work on it prior to shipping the finished, perforated product back to you.

Do you guarantee the quality of your perforating work?

Yes! We are committed to providing excellent results that meet or exceed expectations. We use high-quality perforation tools and a multi-step inspection process to ensure precision and consistency.

What is the primary purpose of material perforating?

Perforating changes a material’s functionality and aesthetics. It can be used to improve ventilation and airflow, enhance acoustical quality, facilitate tear-off sections, and more.

What is the difference between standard perforating and micro-perforating?

Standard perforating uses visible, cut-out holes to achieve functional or artistic goals. Micro-perforating uses tiny, often nearly invisible pinholes for precision ventilation, especially common in applications like wall coverings and high-tech films.

What industries use your services the most?

We serve many different industries. Some of these include the automotive, hospitality and design, aerospace, packaging, graphic arts, medical, and renewable energy industries.

Can perforation be used for branding?

Absolutely. Beyond standard patterns, we can develop custom perforation patterns to incorporate unique visual textures and designs directly onto the material.

How does perforating improve acoustical quality?

Strategic perforations help diffuse or absorb sound waves within a space. This is critical for acoustical patterns, wall coverings, and ceiling tiles used in theaters, offices, or commercial spaces to reduce echoes.

What types of materials can you perforate?

We have the expertise and equipment to perforate a wide range of materials. These include woven and non-woven cloth, paper, foil, plastic, leather, vinyl, and more.

What is the largest size material you can handle?

We can handle working with widths up to 78 inches using both roll-to-roll and sheet perforating methods.

Do I have to choose from your standard hole patterns?

No. While we do offer over 80 standard perforation patterns and many modified variations, we specialize in custom perforating to create any unique pattern or design you have in mind for your project.
