Solid materials offer no permeability, so moisture is trapped where it can result in mold.

If there is one steadfast benefit that can be said about perforated materials, it is that they are often the solution for overcoming a problem you might be having. If your hotel or other establishment has consistently been dealing with vapor moisture accumulation under your vinyl wallcoverings, it may be time to consider replacing them with perforated vinyl wallpaper. If you send your wallpaper to us at IPS Perforating, Inc. before you install it, we can perforate it for you and help you achieve vinyl wallcovering permeability.

Vinyl Wallcovering Permeability

Solid materials offer no permeability, so moisture is trapped where it can result in mold that causes the wallcovering to fail. Since vinyl wallcoverings act like a vapor barrier, the wall cannot “breathe”. This is particularly problematic in humid climates. Keep in mind, however, if the moisture level is excessive, that issue should be addressed before putting up any wallcovering. Even achieving plenty of vinyl wallcovering permeability through perforation cannot overcome high levels of moisture accumulation. Perforation does provide quite a bit of ventilation, however, which is a viable solution in many situations.

We are happy to work with you to get the type of perforation that works best for you. You are free to send us some samples of your vinyl wallcovering, and we’ll try various styles with visible or invisible patterns so you can see beforehand how it works before committing to several rolls of vinyl wallcoverings. You can go with one of our already designed perforation patterns or come up with something customized. Reach out to us today if you have any questions about vinyl wallcovering permeability or our perforation process.

At IPS Perforating, Inc., we can assist with improved vinyl wallcovering permeability for customers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
